Renee Ragona, M.A., L.L.P.

Renee Ragona, M.A., L.L.P. is a Limited Licensed Psychologist with more than 35 years of experience helping children, adolescents, adults, and families strengthen their emotional health and well-being. In addition to her work as a psychotherapist in a private practice setting, she has worked in variety of settings across her career including schools, outpatient clinics, hospitals, and community mental health settings. She is deeply committed to meeting the unique needs of each client.

Renee primarily draws upon Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She uses CBT to help clients recognize and shift patterns of thinking that may be contributing to distress, while ACT emphasizes learning to approach life’s challenges with openness, compassion, and value-driven choices. By combining these approaches, Renee supports clients in finding healthier ways to cope, building resilience, and creating lives that feel more balanced, purposeful, and fulfilling.

She specializes in anxiety, depression, self-esteem, parenting challenges, divorce adjustment, and related life transitions. Currently, Renee is primarily working with clients in later childhood, adolescence, and adulthood.

Renee is an active member of the American Psychological Association (APA), the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP), the Michigan Association of School Psychologists (MASP), and the Macomb–St. Clair Psychological Association. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology from Oakland University and her Master of Arts in Psychology from Wayne State University in 1990. She is also a certified School Psychologist in Michigan.

Renee believes that therapy is a collaborative and empowering process. She strives to create a safe, supportive environment where clients feel heard, understood, and encouraged to explore new ways of approaching life’s challenges. She considers it a privilege to walk alongside her clients as they work toward personal growth and lasting change. Renee notes, “As a compassionate and experienced therapist, I am dedicated to helping individuals navigate life’s challenges and achieve personal growth using a blend of evidence-based techniques and humor.”

Outside of her professional role, Renee enjoys spending time with her husband, three adult sons, and her large extended family.
