**How do I get started?**
Call the office and a staff member will gather basic information about your reasons for seeking services. An appointment is then scheduled with a matched therapist. The first session is a 60–90 minute intake/consultation where the therapist gathers background, shares initial impressions, and makes treatment recommendations. Front office is staffed Monday–Friday, 9:00–5:15 PM; messages left at other times are returned promptly.

**How do I know what my insurance covers?**
CFSC staff can check your benefits. You are also encouraged to call the number on the back of your insurance card to ask about in-network and out-of-network outpatient mental health coverage, including deductible, copays, and co-insurance. Staff will help you understand what costs you may incur.

**Does my child come to the intake appointment?**
For children 13 and younger, the first visit is typically a parent-only meeting to allow open dialogue without the child present. The child attends the following appointment. For teenagers, parents and teens are usually invited together; the therapist may split time between the teen and parents. A parent-only intake can be arranged if preferred.

**How do I know which therapist is the right fit?**
Visit the staff page to review therapist backgrounds. If unsure, call and staff will help match you. The clinical director is directly involved in referrals to ensure the right experience, training, and personality fit. If CFSC is not the right practice, outside referrals will be provided.

**How long are therapy sessions and how many will I need?**
Ongoing sessions are typically 45–55 minutes. Treatment length depends on established goals and follow-through; some courses run 5–15 sessions, others may require more. The intake therapist will give an initial indication of what treatment may look like. Weekly sessions are generally recommended for consistency.

**Do I have to take my child out of school?**
Therapists offer many after-school, evening, and/or weekend appointments to minimize disruption to school or work schedules. Each therapist also maintains a cancellation list for additional scheduling options.

**What is a Good Faith Estimate (No Surprises Act)?**
For patients not using insurance, CFSC must provide a Good Faith Estimate of expected costs. You have the right to receive this in writing at least 1 business day before services. If your bill exceeds the estimate by $400 or more, you can dispute the bill. For more information, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 425-357-9111.
