Abigail Lyng, M.S.W, L.M.S.W is a licensed clinical social worker who has extensive training and experience working with children, adolescents, young adults and families. Abigail’s clinical experience in homes, schools and community settings enable her to develop and implement effective and strengths-based treatment for the clients she services.

Abigail has an expansive range of skills to help with a large variety of challenges. Areas of specialty include depression, anxiety, trauma, adjustments, ADHD, social skills, and behavioral challenges. She utilizes a variety of approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TFCBT), behavior modification therapy, family therapy, and motivational interviewing (MI). Additionally, Abigail has lead Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) skills groups teaching parent and child multiple effective skills to further learning of how to cope healthily with stress, regulate emotions and improve relationships with others. Known for her empathic approach and passion for making a difference in the lives of others, Abigail’s specializes in depression, mood difficulties, trauma, ADHD, anxiety, and changes in families.

Most recently, Abigail served as a full time home based therapist with the Children’s Center of Wayne County where she provided intensive therapy to children, teens, and families in the home, school, and community settings.

Abigail received her Master’s in Social Work degree from Washington University in St. Louis. A proud wolverine, Abigail attended the University of Michigan for her undergraduate degree.
