Paul Bernstein, LMSW
Paul Bernstein, LMSW, is a licensed clinical social worker specializing in children, adolescents and families. He has 20 years of experience working in schools as well as outpatient, community mental health, camp and residential settings. His areas of focus includes the assessment and treatment of depression, anxiety, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Asperger’s Syndrome, adjustment issues, behavior problems, divorce, and social skill training. Mr. Bernstein has developed and led parent forums focusing on children with ADHD. He has run child and adolescent groups for social skills, ADHD, anger, anxiety, friendship, divorce and grief/loss. Currently employed with the public schools, Mr. Bernstein has extensive experience in school based intervention and educational advocacy.
Mr. Bernstein received his Bachelors degree in psychology and a Masters degree in Social Work from Wayne State University. He also holds school certification in social work. Since graduate school, he has continued to further his education through post-graduate courses, seminars and forums in the area of children, adolescents and families.
Mr. Bernstein is a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and the Michigan Association of School Social Workers (MASSW). He is certified and has been a trainer for Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) through the Crisis Prevention Institute. Mr. Bernstein resides in Oakland County with his wife and 3 loving children.
