Kim Waters, MS



Kim Waters, M.S.
is a limited licensed psychologist specializing in the treatment of a variety of challenges facing children, adults and families. She brings over 18 years of experience in the field of child development, parenting and behavior management and an expertise on gifted individuals. She has additional experience in sensory processing disorder and other developmental disorders having been on staff at the Abilities Center. She has been trained in Dr. Kay Toomey's SOS approach to feeding difficulties in children.

Kim currently chairs the social-emotional needs of gifted students committee for the Michigan Alliance for Gifted Education. She is helping to develop awareness of the unique social-emotional needs of gifted students across the state of Michigan. She has written articles for the Alliance's newsletter and presents at conferences on their behalf. In addition to her practice, Kim occasionally substitute teaches at The Roeper School, a co-educational day school for gifted students. She is a sought after presenter for parents and professionals on topcis including: Gifted and "Quirky" Kids, Sensory Processing Dysfunction Impacts Behavior and Sensory Processing in the Home throughout the community.

Kim obtained her Bachelors degree from Oakland University and her Masters degree from Eastern Michigan University. Kim provides individual and family therapy at the Child and Family Solutions Center as well as leading the Social Detectives group for children.
